The world hates people with big feet. I have big feet. Size 11 1/2 feet. Not so bad, you say? True. Having size 11 1/2 feet wouldn't be so bad. By itself. But when you pair that with the fact that they are 4E (2E being someone described as having "wide feet", and 3E being someone with even wider feet), I have a selection of about sixteen pairs of shoes. At what calls itself "The World's Largest Shoe Store". Sadly, it IS the world's largest shoe store (i.e. I'm fucked). Now, while I must give mad props to the New Balance shoe company for being one of the very few companies that actually MAKE shoes that wide, they really need to make some prettier shoes. I still have a sense of style, though my feet may be large enough to crush several cars at once. And they're expensive, too! $125.00 for a pair of fatass white/navy tennis shoes? I don't THINK so. The closest I've come to liking something is this pair of brown and blue ones, but something about them just screams "Indigo Girls!" in my face, and while I have no problem with folky earthy lesbian fashion, I'm not sure that I was meant to wear it.
